The vending machines here at my college; a bag of skittles last semester cost me only 85 cents. Now it costs me an entire dollar! Total bullshit, right?
Not only that, less tangible but possibly more life-altering: I'm planning on transferring from the backwater hellhole I'm at now. Actually, hellhole might be just a tad harsh, it's not a bad school...just a place were I don't think I'll ever be happy.
I have the grades and the test scores to go pretty much anywhere I want that isn't Harvard. A couple of months ago, my first choice was Georgetown...prestigious, in the city, awesome baskeball team: what more could you ask for? Cheaper tuition I guess. It would cost me about $55,000 a year to go there. And because I'm just a spoiled, upper-middle class white kid, my parents are paying for my education. But I can't justify asking them to pay that much.
I'm also not at all willing to go into debt for an undergraduate education. I don't want to be taking out tens of thousands of dollars in student loans. No sir.
So instead, it looks like I'll be 'settling' for a 'cheaper' public school like the University of North Carolina or the University of Virginia. But I guess I really can't complain about having the opportunity to attend a college of their caliber. That would be pretty great actually.
--This post is completely pointless, I just want to start trying to make money with this blog again and I had nothing better to write about.
